68 Months: Feb 8, 2020

By February 8, 2020 Journey

“In nature, nothing is perfect and everything is perfect. Trees can be contorted, bent in weird ways, and they’re still beautiful.”

— ALICE WALKER

To awaken at 4am to a full moon setting is a magical thing. At the dawning of the day where yet another month is to be counted sleep is often scarce. This month in particular, which is laden with special days and filled with memories, is especially difficult. Yet on this morning, the moon was a huge yellow beacon shining right into my bedroom.  By the time I stumbled out onto the balcony, camera in hand, the clouds had blanketed the moon, leaving just the barren glowing trees.  It was as if the setting moon was just for me, but the beauty of the trees was for sharing. The light was bright enough to carry me through the month.  I’ll hold it in my soul.  And I get to share the beautiful trees with all of you. I am grateful.

Hi Lisa, I’m thinking of you and Sophie. I know this month is a tough one, with her birthday coming up in a few weeks. Thank you for sharing your thoughts and your journey. I hope this month connects you with many warm memories and your friends and family. I will be heading up to Michigan later this week or at the end of the month (hoping to dodge the snowstorms). I’m sure you are as happy to be in TX and I am to be in NC — where the daffodils are getting ready to bloom. I’ll be in touch again soon. Hugs to you and Michael. Diane
