On what would be my beautiful daughter’s 27th birthday I find myself reflecting on her spirit of adventure. Overnight camp at 7 (at her insistence). Traveling abroad alone at 14. Making sure to put at least 5 states between home and college. Living alone in her first apartment. She wasn’t fearless, but she pursued what she wanted in spite of any fears. She was determined to live the life of her dreams, and for 23 years she did. Today I should be giving her a box wrapped in shiny paper and bows. Instead, my gift is to promise to strive to overcome my fears every day and live the life of my dreams, for her and with her.
For you and Sophie . . . who lived fully her years here with you . . . loving and living BIG !
