60 Months: Jun 8, 2019

“At times, our own light goes out and is rekindled by a spark from another person. Each of us has cause to think with deep gratitude of those who have lighted the flame within us.”

— ALBERT SCHWEITZER

Five years ago the brilliant light that was my daughter vanished in a flash.  For days, months, years it seemed as if there was no more light. Yet now I see that her light is still here.  It is rekindled in the hearts of those who love her and in the beauty of her spirit. It is when I remember to think with deep gratitude that it shines. Today, I hold the deepest gratitude for her beautiful life and for every person that holds her light in their heart. There is no more powerful drug than gratitude. Whatever the depth of our pain, if we can remember not just what we’ve lost, but what we had and what we have, then we can survive anything.  Today, of all the days of the year, I will reach deep to remember to be grateful for her light and all who continue to keep it alive.

Feeling sad for you! She was such a spark of light in this dark world. I’m sure she is a bright star in our sky. My heart aches for you. Thanks for being a big part of my life.

5 years? And her spirit grows brighter than ever. It is too long for you to have been without her and not Long enough for you to be as grateful as you want to be. This is, without a doubt, the craziest human experience. You carry it and express it so deeply and so beautifully, Lisa. You are a lovely soul and an encouragement to me.
