It has taken 44 months but I’ve come to the part of my journey where I can start to fill my soul with new experiences. A trip half way around the world, to one of the most spectacular places I have ever been, was a grand leap. The mountains, lakes, stars, and sky defied words. It was truly breathtaking. Yet I also know that the hole within me will never ever be filled. I hold it tightly, like a treasure, for it is where your spirit lives, and I will share my adventures with you for as long as I have them.
Love fills the hole, loves makes us whole. Love is the treasure to behold. Sophie’s Love is eternal. A treasure today as it was in your yesterday’s and even more in your tomorrows. Sending you love my dear friend, boundless and endless love, that knows no limits, depths, or heights!???

Your phrase, "the hole within me" brought to mind a passage in the Tao Te Ching. I hesitate to share it, because the exact word choice of the translations I'm finding don't seem to capture the essence that I remember it with. But, I'm going to go out on a limb anyway, to let it speak to you as it may. Since it was shared with me, this passage offers a life-giving way to think about holes and 'empty space'.
"Thirty spokes are joined in the wheel's hub.
The hole in the middle makes it useful.
Mold clay into a bowl.
The empty space makes it useful.
Cut out doors and windows for the house.
The holes make it useful.
Therefore, the value comes from what is there,
But the use comes from what is not there."
~Tao Te Ching by Lao Tzu, Chapter 11
