“If a family has an old person in it, it possesses a jewel.”
— CHINESE PROVERB
My life has been bracketed by two amazing women. For 62 years my mother has had my back. She has been my champion, my referee, my critic and my mirror. For over 27 years my daughter has been my guiding light. Both here on earth and now in the vastness that surrounds me, she has been my inspiration, my pride, my challenge and my joy. She left this earth suddenly, with no warning. My mother, at 88, is still here, and as is the way when we move through old age, she is leaving slowly. She remembers randomly and functions differently. Yet she is even more amazing now, for she moves through each day with humor and grace. She holds no anger or self-pity. Instead, she is filled with gratitude for all who come to see her. My brackets are ephemeral, each one in a different way. One is now an angel and the other is a jewel. I am blessed.
I love this! Hi to Ethel! ❤️
